Building Progress!

Progress! I forgot to get a shot of the roof which looks awesome.

Removable! The bases of the rooms have an additional piece that can also be removed for cleaning/rot prevention

6 x 6 x 16 foot post! It weights over 100 pounds! The delivery man lifted it as thought it was a lego brick! I struggled to pull it out of the garage. I needed 2 other people to help me put it on the buckets to paint!

Let the priming begin! Please note, there is still snow on the ground in my neighborhood!

Bird House Rough Model

Progress on the house!

 This model was made over a month ago and supplies have been purchased since. The entire penthouse/ roof area is going to be much bigger to extend over the perches/balcony to provide rain shelter and the base will be longer. This was not a scale model. I made it for the builder to see how large it could go without toppling over!

SAVE THE DATE=?

I have found that the save the date for the dedication day is more complicated then I thought- the first week in April 2015 is Easter, the second weekend there is an event I RSVP ed for months ago, which means pushing the event into May. I need to get approval for the event by the conservation commission and the want the builder of the birdhouse there, plus I need a rain date...

I found some "historical documents" in my closet of photos of the pond through the 90's, most likely 1994-1997

This one below is my favorite because I can see my shadow and in the background between the trees you can see the birdhouse in it's second location. The first was on the other side of the stream. The white bridge across the stream is also in the photo!

Awwww "fending off the wolves for the sake of purple birds" is what I live for. I'll be doing a whole lot more of that in grad school. This was just a warm up!
